Green Beauty Review: FitGlow Beauty

Wow, where has November gone? I can’t believe it’s almost over.  This week I wanted to switch things up and do a lifestyle post. Following the autoimmune protocol includes more than just food choices. I have spoken about this before, but I felt it was important to mention again. What you put on your skin goes into your body…just like what you eat does. Therefore, it is equally important to be aware and informed regarding the products you are putting on your skin. A lot of my autoimmune issues involve my skin so I like to pay special attention to this.

This week is my birthday and some of my family decided to treat me with some new FitGlow Beauty products as well as some replacements of my favourites. So I thought it was the perfect time to do a review and share with you some of my favourite products. If you haven’t tried this brand yet, then I hope you will find this post informative. If you are already a fan of their products like I am, then maybe you will be intrigued to try a new product from their line. This is also the perfect time to add some clean and green beauty products to your wish list this holiday season!

First I’d like to talk about their vita active foundation because it is in my opinion their stand out product. On the left is shade 1, shade 2 in the middle, and shade 1 and 2 mixed together on the right. They have recently come out with a new shade called 1.5 which I think will be perfect for me because shade 1 is slightly too light and shade 2 is slightly too warm for my skin. It will run you about $55 but it is totally worth the price. It is makeup but it is also skincare and your skin will look better even after wearing it all day. It is a semi-matte finish but doesn’t feel drying at all and is a medium coverage (perfect for everyday). Get a sample and try this foundation out, you won’t regret it!

These lip products are fantastic! On the left I have the lip glosses in Liv, Nudie, and Deep. These glosses remind me so much of Mac Cosmetics lip glosses, they have the same heavenly vanilla smell without the chemicals and the stickiness. Liv and Nudie give a sheer wash of colour to the lips and Deep gives you a fully opaque colour.

I only have two of their lipsticks but I wish I had them in every shade. They are the creamiest lipstick I have ever tried. As you can tell from the photo, my hands are extremely dry from the cold air and excessive hand washing. These lipsticks still glide on smoothly and have a nice sheen to them. The best part is they don’t make your lips drier. Pictured on the right are shades Alps (L), and Buck (R). I just got Buck as an early birthday present and it is quickly becoming my favourite everyday colour!

I have been using the two blushes on the far left for approximately 5 months. They are very long wearing and have excellent pigmentation. I use the shade sculpt every day to contour. It is perfect as a contour because it doesn’t have too much of a red undertone. It would also work for all light to medium skin tones. The second shade is also great for everyday and it is in the shade JOY. These blushes remind me of  the Tarte blushes because of how long-lasting they are. Nobody wants spotty blush!

On the right is a new product I also received as an early birthday present. It is their new mineral cheek Hi-Light. I have only used this product a few times but so far I am liking the subtle sheen it gives to the tops of the cheek bones. One side has glitter and one does not. For everyday I use the side without the glitter but for your holiday party you may wish to add a bit more sparkle and rock the glitter!

Items not pictured are their mascara and eye bright. Their mascara is very volumizing, great for sensitive eyes and stands up to humidity the same way a waterproof mascara would. I use the eye bright daily as well to cancel out dark circles before applying foundation and concealer.

FitGlow Beauty products are cruelty free, and have no parabens, synthetic fragrances or dyes. Many products are gluten-free and vegan as well. Their foundation even scored a zero on the Think Dirty app. Shipping is reasonable if you are in Canada and is usually less than ten dollars. The best part is that they always send 2-3 good-sized samples. I am looking forward to trying their Super C line. That’s next on my wish list!

What green beauty products would you like to see me review next?

You can get a sample from their website! There are also many other beauty websites that will provide samples like clementinefields or thedetoxmarket or ecodivabeauty.
