Review: Simple French Paleo Cookbook (A Squirrel In The Kitchen)

Have you ever wanted to travel to France but wondered what you would eat while following the AIP? Or perhaps you are missing your favourite French dishes now that you are following the autoimmune protocol. Well now you no longer have to wonder or miss out because Sophie from A Squirrel in the Kitchen has created a beautiful cookbook Simple French Paleo which has all of your favourite French recipes along with tips and tricks for following the AIP. The best part is that all of these recipes are 100% AIP compliant and they are simple to make. You don’t need a thousand ingredients or lots of time to make delicious French food with this cook book.

This book is truly a work of art. As you look through the pages you will literally feel as if you are transported to France and you are sitting around the dinner table sharing wonderful real food with those you love. The lavender fields are so dreamy that you will be packing your bags for the Provence countryside before you finish the book. This book has 90 AIP recipes along with AIP lifestyle hacks, an overview of the protocol, conversion tables, food lists, pantry items, and the stages of reintroductions. This book covers it all and would be great for someone just starting their AIP journey.

When I am reviewing a cook book I like to try out a variety of the recipes and share my favourites. So here are some of my favourite recipes from Simple French Paleo

Aioli (this is the best AIP mayonnaise I have tried)

Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup (so creamy, reminds me of a tomato bisque soup)

French Onion Soup (creamy and flavourful with bacon and onion)

Sage Roast Chicken (simple and delicious)

Food is often so much a part of culture and identity for all of us. I am so thankful that the AIP community is growing and that there are more and more resources for different cultures becoming available. A special thank you goes out to Sophie for being one of the most welcoming people in the Autoimmune protocol community. She is very knowledgeable about the autoimmune protocol and is truly a wonderful person. Reading about the autoimmune protocol has never looked so pretty!

I hope you will check out this beautiful cook book and let me know if you try some of the recipes! I would love to see your photos! You can buy it as an e book or in paperback here. I highly recommend buying it in paperback because this book is going to look lovely sitting on your coffee table too!
