AIP Pantry

Once a year I attempt to re-organize my pantry. Not only to make it look better but also to make it more functional. I am a grade one teacher so I usually do this in the summers when I am not working. I live with my fiancé and he does not follow the autoimmune protocol. I would say he eats paleo 80% of the time and 20% of the time he eats whatever he wants. So my pantry includes AIP items but also items that are not AIP and some items that are not Paleo either.

I didn’t take a before picture unfortunately. But basically each shelf had a category. For example the bottom shelf was oils and sauces, the middle shelf was canned goods and the top shelf was snacks. This year I decided to invest in buying some baskets for organizing because everything was always falling over causing things to become unorganized and hard to find.

So I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of baskets. Luckily I ended up with the right amount. I already had some bins from Wal-Mart and Ikea so I washed those out and used them too. Overall the baskets cost about $50. The good news is I hopefully won’t need to buy baskets again. I am hoping this will keep my pantry organized and make my life easier.

Here are the photos of my newly re-organized pantry!

This is the left side of my pantry. It has all of my baking goods, both AIP and regular. In these bins you will find items such as arrowroot flour, tiger nut and coconut flour, apple sauce, coconut milk, spices, nutritional yeast, & cream of tartar. I labeled the outside of each bin so I could easily identify the contents. Along the bottom I have a bin of water bottles because they are too tall to fit in my cup boards. I also have two white bins on the top shelf. One has AIP snacks, paleo candies/chocolate/gum, and the other has glass jars. You can also see some rice, and noodles which are for my fiancé.

This is the right side of my pantry. On the bottom shelf you will find oils, apple cider vinegar, teas, coconut manna, dates, & AIP friendly drinks. On the middle shelf I have honey, palm shortening, Great Lakes gelatin, coconut aminos, fish sauce, vinegar, & canned fish (tuna, oysters, salmon, sardines). On the third shelf you will find non AIP ingredients. Mustards, spices, & canned goods for my fiancé.

Lastly at the very top you will find two chip bins & a smaller bin with Saran wrap, extra Ziploc bags and parchment paper. One bin has unhealthy snacks that I avoid and the other has AIP friendly snacks such as: Inka plantain chips, salted green banana chips, pork rinds, and coconut chips.

I hope this post gives you some ideas for how you might organize your pantry. If you want a more detailed post on all the ingredients I have in my pantry that are AIP compliant then leave a comment or contact me and let me know.

Happy organizing!
